Maximus V gene mobo not powering down after Window 7 does.

As the title states, my pc is not powering off when I shut down Windows 7. Windows shuts down and my screen goes black. However, my system stays on with the fans and water cooler running. I can shut the pc down by holding in power button until it goes off. I've looked all over the net and found nothing pertaining to my issue that was useful. I did find one forum post on microsoft.com windows 7 site that said it was the IEE-1394 bus host controller not being allowed to shut down. It said to go in and right click the properties tab on it and under the power management tab, make sure the allow the computer to turn off this device was checked. Well if the IEE-1394 bus host controllers are there, I can't find them. So I am trying to figure out whether it is a hardware issue or software issue. Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello would you please uninstall the intel IRST utility and see how it goes, if you need the utility please download an earlier version from the ASUS motherboard support page.

Here is a long shot for you, my computer was doing exactly the same thing, I finally figured out that it was the Razer synapse drivers for my mouse. I uninstalled all the Razer software, left my mouse running with the generic Microsoft drivers and now my computer shuts down within 3 seconds again.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will uninstall the intel rst when i get home from work. I don't use it to the best of my knowledge. I only have the one samsung 840 pro sdd atm. Preacher brings up a good point. The last software I installed was for a Logitech joystick I started using to play Warthunder. That was about 2-3 days before my pc started having it's current issue. That could very well be it. I use a Logitech g500 laser gaming mouse. It's been installed for several months now. But the joystick software may very well be it. Thank you again for your advice. I will post the results.

My MVF does this occasionally. Sometimes if I click on sleep it takes a good minuet or so for it actually power off.
The monitor does however go black.
