Any ram utilizing Hynix BFR H9C ICs should work well. I think that those GSkills may be sporting Samsung HCH9 ICs and while they will work pretty good, the Tridents with those Hynix ICs seem to play better with the Formula (and the Gene, so probably the Extreme, as well). See link below.

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?281741-G.SKILL-TridentX-Maximus-V-Formula-Z77-Str...

As for the Corsairs, based on the clock and timings, I first thought that they are also going to be using either one of those two ICs, since these are the most commonly used for high-clocking 4GB modules. However, as I read the product page, it shows a 2133 part with CL9 and voltage of 1.5v. That would indicate that perhaps these modules are using a well-binned Hynix CFR (as opposed to BFR). The CFR is the lower voltage IC. One strange thing about that link is that If you keep reading down the product description, they then state that it is an 1866 part, as opposed to the 2133.

I think that has to be incorrect, based on the parts number.

To summarize, I would think that both of your links, as well as the Tridents I linked, would work quite well with your new motherboard. Availability and pricing should probably be the final determining factor, although the Corsairs will look good with the ROG board.

For 2x4GB kits I am personally going to be testing modules with all three of those ICs, as well as some Micron based modules. I also have some Elpida BBSE and Powerchip IC based modules for 2x2GB testing.

In a few weeks there should be all sorts of info out there as to what works well with these motherboards, but right now the info is limited. I do think that if it works with the GENE, is should work with the Formula and the Extreme.

thank u very much for ur post... my focus was more on the gskill ram, its a personal reason and not that they are about 10€ cheaper (thats not important for me in that category of price), no i like GSkill personally very much. Using GSKill RAM for many years now at many PC builds, and never had a problem with RAM =). So i probably will choose the GSkill. Even if i have to agree that the Corsair might look awesome in my new black/red built =P ! But therefore i have an idea aswell =P ! If my build is done u will get some pictures =P !

According to P-PCS facebook, They DO NOT have them in stock and wont have them in stock til after the 23rd.

Besides, I'll have to wait til Newegg or Amazon has them in stock (Credit on Amazon).

Ahhh sorry, ya I gave up with Amazon for the MVE. I REALLY wanted to purchase from Amazon only because their return policy is simple plus I have been shopping with them since 2003. No need for a RMA or anything. You simply tell them what is wrong and done. I have a feeling though Amazon won't post anything till the 23rd for some reason.

don't bother with that drive if you want one for speed, I would do OCZ vertex 3 at a minimum.. much faster read/write and IOPS and is Sata III
