Maximus V Formula sudden power-off issues

So, I put together a Maximus V Formula (AC3) system, with specs as follows:

Antec HCP-750 power supply
Intel i5-3570K, with retail heat sink + AS5 thermal material
Corsair 16GB 4x4 CML16GX3M4X1600C8 RAM (from the MVF QVL)
EVGA GeForce 560Ti FPB video card

I don't think the two hard drives, single SSD, or single optical drive matter for this.

After assembly, I flashed the UEFI BIOS to 1604 and put Win8 on it, and installed drivers. No AI Suite ever got installed, or any other of the special ASUS software for charging, etc.

Everything ran nice for a few weeks, plus or minus - after everything got installed, uptime was at least 16-some days. Then I came home one night to find it off. Over the next day, it suddenly shut off with a "click" sound with no warning a few more times, until I just gave up on it being a random glitch.

I read about the Q-Fan issues some people are having, but that doesn't seem to be the potential problem here. Currently, it will still suddenly shut down randomly - even after a short period of time - after just starting up and entering the BIOS. However, it also ran MemTest for 28-ish hours, with no errors or restarts, a few days ago (booted from a USB key).

Thoughts? I'm kinda at a loss here.

''it suddenly shut off with a "click" sound''

Hi there, welcome to ASUS ROG.

Is it possible for you to find another PSU and give it a try?
It's the first thing that came up to my mind, as I read your post.

I have another HCP-750 NIB, but... it seems odd. After running for a couple weeks. I could, though.

I second the PSU theory.

Yeap, my first step would be also to check the PSU...

The second, to check if there are any shorts in your setup... and/or maybe something came loose, some connectors... - actually I would try to trigger that symptom by gently moving the case while the pc is on... but, first, be sure that your PSU is OK

In the electrical short direction, could there be an extra (unnecessary) stand off under the motherboard?

Unfortunately the guy started the thread didn't give any feedback. Sudden shut downs for me usually comes from Power supply or overheated CPU or Graphics card. Check your fans/temperatures to both CPU and GPU and if possible check your system with another Power supply.

Quite correct it does sound like a heat thing. Freeleecher could I ask that you start your own thread and list all your hardware please.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
