Maximus V Formula prblem with new graphics card

Hi. I have my Maximus V Formula for over 6 months now and until yesterday everything worked grate. I bought ASUS GeForce GTX780 and it didn't worked. Every time I got "please power down and connect the PCIe power cables" message (all cabel was plugged in). Before I had no problem with MSI GeForce GTX670. I tried 2nd red PCIe 3.0 and ... it works, but it is only x8. I tried other psu but it still did't worked in 1st red PCIe x16 and I have no idea what can be wrong if old card works in every PCIe without any problem but new works only in 2nd one and it only supports x8.

My PC:
Be Quiet Straight Power 680W
Intel Core i7 3770K non OC
Asus Maximus V Formula
Samsung SSD 128GB + 3TB WD HDD
MSI GF 670 PE and new ASUS 780 OC DirectCUII
G.Skill 2400Mhz 2x8GB

What else can I do to make it work?

Please see if you can test your card in another system, I would like to remove the card as a possible cause.

You can also do a full clear cmos via the clear cmos button and try again.

I cleared cmos and it didn't worked. 780 have 2 leds over power connectors signalizing if power is connected even when pc is turned off and they are lighting up when card is in 2nd slot but don't when it is in 1st slot. fans are spinning in both slots.

I'll try to test it in other pc as soon as I can.

Yes please do that.

Ok it seems that based on what you have said about the power led's that the first slot is not getting power.

But it does get power when you use the old card?

Yes. Old card works fine in 1st and 2dn slot. I have used it since I bought this mobo in 1st slot without any problems.

I checked VGA in my friend PC and it works. So I take all parts from chase and tryied to find out what is wrog. A fter few minutes I saw that one of pins connecting pcie slot with mobo is bent and not soldered to mobo. I have no idea why old card work, but I think this is the problem.31663
