Maximus V Formula DOA

After months of waiting for this board I finally started putting my system together last night and fired it up to a blank screen. No POST at all. The error code just states 00. I am using an Intel 3770k. I tried all the normal stuff, reseat RAM, tried different RAM, reseat the CPU, etc.. The only thing I noticed is the CPU LED light stays lit and never goes out. Anyone have any ideas? It looks like the problem could be the CPU and not the motherboard but I'm not sure. I have never had a CPU fail on me before.

Hello - the first thing I would do is make sure you have connected all your power cables.

Check them all, including those to the VGA while you are at it.

I assume the CPU is brand new.

I have checked all of the power cables. I have tried plugging my monitor into the onboard video port with no external Graphics card installed and I have also tried with my graphics card installed. Yes the CPU is fresh out of the box.

Any chance you can swap out your PSU just to remove any doubts? And yeah I know the lights are on so there has to be power to some parts of the board.

It does seem like your CPU is a possible DOA, not just the board. Can be either one.

I'm sure the power supply is good. I'm running an Antec High Current Pro 1200 watt power supply which was running my X58 system right before my rebuild.

Same PSU as that which I use. So let us for arguments sake assume the PSU is good.

Contact the store where you bought the motherboard and CPU from and inform them that either one or the other is dead on arrival.

I decided to re-install the CPU and RAM one last time before starting the RMA and everything booted right up. Something must have been of just a little but everything is working great now. Thanks HiVizMan for the suggestions.
