Maximus v formula 8+4pin module

Hello all!!

I am going to buy a maximus v formula motherboard. As far as I can see, to power this beast up, you have to connect the standar 20+4 pin module plus an 8pin and a secondary 4pin module.

Is it mandatory to connect my psu to the 4pin? I am not planning to do overclocking for the time being. If I connect it without doing oc, will it damage my motherboard??

Thanks in advance!!

its there to power if your gona do REALY HIGH OC ( LN2 ( liquid nitrogen ) ).
connect the 8pin and if 2 graphic cards ( or 3 ) connect the 4pin molex on the bottom of the mobo.

If your PSU has the connector then use it, you will not use any more or any less power if the connector is populated.

Your system will work if the 8 pin is the only connector used. 🙂
