Maximus V Extreme Slow Boot Help

How long is your system supposed to sit on the ROG screen? (where you can hit delete to enter bios)
Before your system starts loading windows ?

I timed mine and it takes anywhere between 20-25 seconds. This seems too long.

It feels slow. Is this normal?

I plugged my SSD and storage HDD into the intel 6gb/s ports and my DVD drive and Esata port (the one near my case switches) into the ASmedia 6gb/s ports.

Any suggestions? Fast boot is enabled and I have updated to the latest Bios as well.

There's only a keyboard and mouse plugged in at the moment.

Do you mean unplug them physically from the motherboard?

Yes. See if that solves your problem.

Okay, I'll try when I get home but.. If it's my internal USB headers.. I need those. How do I solve the problem? I was thinking of plugging my DVD drive and Esata into the intel 3gbps black ports and disabling the ASmedia ports.

Do you think that could help?

Hard to say at this point. Anything can cause your system to boot slowly. Normally we start with the USB devices then move our way down to HDDs/SSDs/CD or DVD drives/ etc... to find the culprit. So if disconnecting the USB devices doesn't work for you, you know what to do next. Report back.

Problem Solved, the first thing I tried was removing all USB's from the front pannel (like keyboards etc.) and my computer started up and booted instantly. Turns out it was a faulty USB 2.0 keyboard that was slowing down the boot. Weird..

>>Chino, I have another question for you though. I'm looking at trying to overclock my RAM. I was looking at your guides and I'm having a little difficulty figuring out where to start on this board. I know I can set the clock speed and timings but I think it needs additional voltage. Where should I start? I ghave the ADATA XPG V1 Series Black 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 DIMMs. This board is a little overwhelming. Any help would be appreciated.
