Maximus IV Gene-Z/Gen3 not showing on board graphics.

Hello,

I am working on my first build and having the following issue.
On the first boot there is no video signal showing for the on board HDMI. I have tried with both computer monitor and TV, but no signal.
I have no additional graphics card, so I am basically in a situation where I cannot do anything.

Also it registers a USB mouse but no USB keyboard.

The build is as following:
Maximus IV Gene-Z/Gen3
i7-2700k processor
16 GB Corsair 1600 Ram
Corsair SSD hard drive
Corsair AX850 PSU

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello and welcome.

May I make a suggestion please.

Remove all components, including your CPU and inspect the socket for bent or damaged bent.
Remount CPU and cooler.
Please use a Computer monitor.
One stick of RAM only fitted into the furtherest slot from the CPU.
Clear CMOS
Connect 12V CPU connector
Connect 24Pin Pwr connector
Boot up.

Keep an eye on the two digit post code and note down the code if your system gets stuck please.

See if this helps... Flick the ROG USB switch on, boot, flick off boot. Worked for someone else.

The Corsair might be the problem, as HiV says tell us the post code.

Keep track of which ram sticks are which, you need to keep them paired if they came in two packets... one pack for each set of colored ram slots.

also there is the memok button, try holding down while booting.

Guys,

Thanks for all the help.
I walked through all steps as HiV recommended, and will (embarsingly) admit I only had the 24-pin power connector plugged in.
After plugging in the second 8-pin connector, and a few f-bombs, everything fired up great!
Windows installed quickly and I'm up and running.

Thanks for the help,
Bob
