maximus iv extreme-z tri sli problems

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone had any ideas regarding this issue I'm having.

Previous to my tri sli setup, I was running fine with 2x evga gtx 580 (reference model) in slots 1 & 3 with no problems on the latest nvidia drivers (290.53). Recently I decided to do a trade with a friend and obtained a third gtx 580. The third card is the mis n580 gtx Lightning edition. So the new setup I went to was the 2x evga cards in slots 1 & 2 and the msi in slot 4. After the driver install, I tried running Heaven DX11 Benchmarks, but found that the screen would go black for a few seconds then see the benchmark running on a flickering screen for a couple seconds then the video card fans rev up the go down and the monitors lose signal. The machine is still running after all this and I have to force reboot. I then tried running 3DMark11 with the same results. I then tried running BF3 and the same thing. Oddly, I ran SWTOR and it had no problems. One thing I did notice is if I control alt delete Heaven before the flickering I could then launch the taskmanager then click back into Heaven and it run with no problems, but when I exit the application it would then crash the application (system still running). Immediately I figured it was a driver issue so I ran driver sweeper and reinstalled the drivers but had the same exact results. I decided to then try the 285.62 drivers and had the same end result. I then tried driver version 275.50 and everything worked.

After finding the 275.50 working, I decided to load back up the 290.53 drivers and then tried just running evga evga and evga msi in 2 way sli to see if there was a problem - both worked in slots 1 and 3, however, if I run in 1 and 4 I wouldn't crash but instead get flickering during the above applications mentioned that would normally crash. So I think I isolated the issue to slot 4, however, I don't understand why running the 275.50 drivers would resolve this issue. Again, I'm thinking its a software issue or possibly an issue with the nf200 settings perhaps (don't know much about this technology so not sure where to start here). I also checked out my bios version and got it to the 0902 (recent version) . One thing I did notice was my chipset is set to 9.2.0.1016 instead of what is on the website 9.2.0.1030 - but when I try to install the newer version the setup says it installed successfully but I don't see the change in device manager. One other thing I figure I should mention is my PSU is the ax1200 watt gold rated corsair which from my understanding should be sufficient for tri sli.

I was hoping someone might have an idea how to fix this or where I should be looking because I'm out of ideas. If you need more info I can provide it. All help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jonspad

Are you over-clocking the graphic cards?

Are all three graphic cards 1.5GB memory or 3GB memory?

Do you have the additional power connector for the motherboard plugged in?
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

What power supply are you running? And as "HiVizMan" are they mixed? 1) one being clocked higher 2) more ram on one. And do you have all the extra molex power connected for the pic-express lanes? Thanks
