Maximus IV Extreme-Z Not Getting Mouse Support At Bios

Nkaldis

Hello, ever since I have purchased my Maximus board I have never had mouse support in the bios. I've looked through the manual and looked on several forums for a helpful thread but I have found nothing.

Also, could anyone tell me how I can delete one of my Bios profiles? For some reason I have two of them and I'd like to delete the idle one but there is no obvious way to do so. As I have said, I'm a filthy noob with the bios so please forgive my stupidity.

What mouse are you using?

Have you tried different USB ports?

Have you tried different brands of Mouse?

Yes, I have tried with three different mice (1 wireless, 2 wired). And I have tried just about every USB port on my machine, front and back. I'm thinking that maybe updating my Bios could fix the problem but I've heard that the consequences could be quite dire if not done correctly.

Just do not update to the three series BIOS please. Well not yet at least.

Based on what you are telling me I would think a RMA is looming.

Thank you for your previous support with this topic. I have a quick question for you. I'm planing on updating my BIOS in an attempt to fix the mouse support problem. I've also been having problems with my RAM lately so maybe it would help with that as well. My question is, what BIOS version should I be upgrading to? I'm going to gather more information before I attempt to update but you mentioned that I should avoid the generation 3 update so I just want to confirm, is this the update I need? That should be just fine.

Also the three series BIOS's are constantly being developed and while they are primarily aimed at the new IVy CPU's I am 100% sure that future BIOS updates will better suite the older CPU's too. So visit every now and again to find out where we are in the process.
