Maximus Impact Q Code 55

So I've recently completed my build (part list below). After wrapping my up water cooling system, I placed a jumper in the proper terminals in the 24 pin atx plug. Pump ran great, burped out the air in system. Hooked up all the cables to their proper location, attempted first boot. Fail. Q code 00, with the PSU cycling on/off fairly quickly. If I unplug the cpu plug from the motherboard, the pump will run. With the cpu plugged in, and the pump unplugged it will stay running but showing Q code 00 (oem cpu cooler installed on the cpu at this point for precaution).

Decided to breadboard the system with barebones. Motherboard, cpu, oem cpu cooler, 1 stick of ram, on board video, no HDD. There was only one boot that made it to POST. After that it was consistently been Q Code 55. I have tried 1 stick of ram, both sticks, different slots.. every combination. Tried CMOS Clear, nothing worked.

Read that it could be a Bios version problem. Downloaded the latest version, renamed it accordingly, inserted the USB stick in the proper slot but nothing would load. The FLBK LED would be a solid red.

Contacted Asus tech support via phone, tech started a RMA. So I got inpatient and picked up another Impact because it was driving me absolutely crazy. Same results

I am ready to throw the whole PC against a wall.

Can anyone please help me?

I know how frustrated you are, I'm in the same boat. Code 55 is related to memory, I'd try different set of memory.

sometimes is code 55 issue because your CPU is too tight in socket. So loosen the Cooler a bit, not so hard to screw up.
