Maximus Hero VI power consumption

Hello Everyone,

I would like to know what is the total power consumed my my mother board at full load,i.e please assume that i have used up all the RAM slots ,PCI express slots and all the SATA ports and of course mounted a CPU, I checked in the manual but could not find it listed anywhere.

I am planning to buy a UPS for my build so i need to calculate the closest possible total power consumption.

Secondly could someone please tell me the maximum current the USB port could give when i activate the USB charger+ through AI SUITE?

Thanks in advance,
Arun

No idea. You are asking us how long is a piece of string. Simple answer is buy your UPS big enough to handle your power supply.

I emailed ASUS techsupport with this query ,
Here are the details:

Intel single chip platform (PCH) motherboard consumes around 20W and adding the chipset is about 7-8 wats,so rough estimate i can consider it to be around 30 W.

USB3 standard output is 1 Amp.
If USB charger+ is enabled ,the device connected can get a maximum of 2 Amps.

As far as I understand, you need a power consumption estimate.

38900

My setup consists of:
i7 4770K @ 4.2 Ghz
32 GB RAM (4 x 😎
1 SSD
5 HDD
1 DVD
1 GTX 580
Hero VI
7 air vents (220-80)

My APC 800+ holds this unit, including my 24 Dell for about 30 minutes

Hope this answers your question

Now you made me curious.
Enabling PCIe power management in BIOS shaved 12-15 W. Now getting 163 W idle.

I think I just found out my new hobby: getting the lowest consumption while overclocking at 4.2 Ghz 🙂

That made me laugh, and it is a very good idea would like to see you have your own thread detailing all the stuff you tried and what the outcome was for each change in settings.
