Maximus Hero - Event Viewer Error/Warning related to AMDA00

Hello all,

Every time i boot my PC, I receive a Warning in the error log that states The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&1. A while back, I had an unknown device under the device manager called ACPI\PNP0A0A. I resolved this by installing the AMDA00 driver found on the "utilities" directory of Asus' download support page. First off, it seemed odd that I needed to download a utility to solve an unknown device. Second, I notice in my event log that the driver has been failing to load even though I no longer have the unknown device in device manager.

Are any of you guys familiar with the ACPI device, WUDFRd driver, AMDA00 utility, or have any insight on why I may be having this issue?

Thank you for any help!

Praz mentions states this in another thread.

Personally I would would just ignore this if there are no issues. Sometimes driver \Driver error is because of the driver loading too early in the boot process. Normally after the fail it will attempt to load again. If there are not multiple entries per bootup indicating the same failure the driver most likely successfully loaded.

Thank you, sir. That does make me feel better about it- although It is sort of the itch i can't scratch at the moment. I guess I will let it sit for the time being

I've had the same issue on my Maximus VI Hero. AMDA00 Interface will not load driver at system start. My solution / work around has been to remove it from device manager then scan for hardware changes via device manager. Once the scan for hardware completes the AMDA00 Interface is detected and drivers load without error. I've checked all the forum posts on the ROG site and also chased down WUDFRd (Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework) driver issues at ROG site and via internet in general. None of the "fixes" has worked so far except my "solution" My system stability does not seem to be affected either way but just want it right.... scratch that itch....hehehehe.
