Maximus 5 Gene + Intel I350-T4 does not boot

Hi Guys,

I have a new Maximus V Gene motherboard with 16GB RAM and a Sandybridge Xeon, it goes great. However, I needed more ethernet ports as I use this system with Linux for network simulation and purchased a Intel I350-T4 NIC. Upon installing this in any of the PCIe (tried x4 first, then top x16, then middle x8) slots, the machine will not boot. The Q-CODE display code 55, and I get no display.

The Intel I350-T4 is a PCIe 2.0 x4 card.

Does anyone have any idea why this might not be working, and is there any possible way to get this up and running ?

I can confirm this card does indeed work in another machine. I tested in a Dell R710 and R720 with success.

Where to from here ?

I will bump this one upstairs again. I have no idea why it does not work for you. It should work.

Hi HiVizMan did you have any luck with this ?

We want to buy 5 more systems with P8Q77-M and run them with these NIC's for prototyping, but until I can get the card running in the Maximus V Gene I am reluctant.

Thanks!

Bump. I still cannot use this nic with the Maximus V Gene.

Any update ?

RageX this is still with the engineers and I will remind them of the issue today.

I know this is an old thread but has any progress ever been made with this. I also have a Maximus Gene V with an Intel I350-T4 installed and will will not boot. It gets stuck at the Boot Wallpaper. If I unplug, boots fine. I am running BIOD 1903.

I have a Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 MOBO with 32GB RAM for my virtualization lab. I tried the card in all three PCIe slots and I have no display or any post error beeps. Any suggestions?

I am having the exact same issue QCODE 55. I thought it was the card so I RMA'd the original and the replacement exhibits the same exact behavior. My systems are as follows:

Asus Z97-WS, 4790K, 16GB (4x4) 2133Mhz Vengeance Pro (latest bios)
Asus Maximus VI Impact, 4770K, 16GB (2x8) 1866Mhz Elite Ballistix (Latest Bios)

Have there been any updates?
