If bin trying for days to get Intel Management Engine installed , and just found out my motherboard, a Asus Maximus VII Ranger lost it's ME firmware.
(When in BIOS on the main page you see N/A after Intel ME)

How this happened I don't know, wild geuss is when flashing to a newer motherboard BIOS.

Could someone tell me how to get ME back up and running ?
By flashing the firmware is probably the first response, thing is I understand that it is a tricky business to flash a ME firmware.

Anyone know an other way ?

Download the firmware you need to flash from here http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php/downloads/Drivers/Intel/Management-Engine-Interface-(MEI)/F.... You most likely need 9.1.25.1005 (1.5Mo), which also comes with premade flashing scripts, then just run .me_flash.bat as administrator, that's all.

Hello

You need to do one of the following:

1. Flash the chip using a programmer
2. Purchase a new preflashed BIOS chip
3. RMA the motherboard

Hello

Properly flashed BIOS chips will work fine. I have programmed countless chips for the 7 series boards and have never had an issue. I guess I should have added to 1 and 2 above this was assuming the person doing the programming knew what they were doing. I thought that was a given but by your post evidently not.

Have you tried removing all power to your computer? I had my current M7H show ME: N/A after my first Windows installation. But unplugging the mains for a few minutes sorted it out. That being said, I returned my first M7H because of this same problem (and removing power didn't fix that).

Yeah more people need to be made aware of this!

The ME portion of the uefi firmware is powered by the standby rail in your psu. Turning off your computer is not enough if you're trying to restart the ME firmware.

You have to completely remove the power to your computer! 🙂
