Max VI Hero: AI Suite 3 Problems & EZ Update

Hi,

I recently switched from an MSI Xpower to an Asus Maximus VI Hero.
The mainboard is great, as are the Bios options. I have one minor issue with the software though, concerning AI Suite 3.

AI Suite 3 lets you change to different power savin profiles by either using the little bar that one can open on the lower right of the desktop, or by choosing a profile inside AI Suite 3 Power saving formulas.
Well, i set up EPU and all the power saving features in the bios, but for some reason I can not choose any other profile but the default "High Performance" one. I can click on whatever profile I want, inside AI Suite 3 or via the little bar....no other profile will highlight or activate.
Any idea on this?

Also, EZ Update within AI Suite 3 seems to do pretty much nothing. Not once did EZ Update show me a single new version available, although there were new Bios´and Software available....is this thing supposed to work?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

First up.

DO NOT use AIsuite to update your BIOS. EVER. Use a fat formatted USB stick and the EZflash2 utility in the tools menu of the bios only.

Second item. If you have EPU enabled then all you need is the CPU to be on C-state defaults to get the full benefit. I would not even bother with the ASUS profiles.

Maybe you could tell me what work you wish these profiles to do, or are you simply exploring the new software

Hi,

thanks for the heads up, I never use Windows to update Bios. I already updated the Bios via the USB Stick method....working great, and coming from MSI, its working tons better than theirs.

Well, I am more or less exploring the software, still, I find it convenient to have different profiles at hand, but if there is no easy solution on hand, I´ll ignore that.
But, I would love to have EZ Update working....
From what I understand, EZ Update should also show me new drivers etc. available. At the moment it doesn´t do a thing. It connects and tells me no update required, although it is clrear that I am not using the latest drivers and/or software. This was actually a feature that worked awesome well with MSI and I kinda miss it.

Thanks

I just do not trust OS to flash bios, the other stuff yeah I can understand, but please not the BioS.
