Mavimus Hero VII Code A2 Issues

I've had this rig for over 6 months now and it has been working fine. Two days ago it froze up and gave me a memory error (code55) so I had to take everything apart and I believe that I resolved that issue by adjusting my heat sink. It most probably moved out of place during a recent move.

Now I am receiving Code A2 for (IDE Detect) so I'm assuming that it does not see my SSD anymore. Either that or something else has gone wrong. I have tried to swap power leads and SATA connectors. I have also hooked up my SSD as an external on my laptop to make sure that my data is still secure and everything is as it should be.

The machine won't POST so i cannot get into the BIOS to change any settings, and I have also recently tried to run a HDD with Win7 on the computer in question with the same result. On top of that I flashed the BIOS in case that was the problem, but again nothing has changed. Any suggestions.

Did you inspect the CPU socket closely for bent or broken pins?

Yes, it was one of the first things i checked. I wanted to rule that possibility out, even though i thought that it was unlikely due to the fact that it had been running well for so long.

Well at one point, when I originally made this thread the only LED that was lit was the one labeled BOOT_DEVICE. But then I took the motherboard out of the case to make sure that there was not anything grounded or shorted on the bottom side. After inspecting the board and hooking it back up the LED that lit up was the VGA_LED. So to eliminate any conflicts I removed the graphics card and I tried to run it using the onboard video. Now when I try to start it the rig just cycles through all the Qcodes like it is going to start but never does. It just ramps up and then restarts. Every now and then I can get it into BIOS and it appears that there are no issues. So then I exit BIOS and it restarts the process instead of loading windows. I'm lost.

this board has been very tempermental for me ever since i got it. ive gotten those q codes. what worked for me was i hit the reset cmos thats on back of the board. also try reflashing ur bios via usb using the flash back feature...all those thing worked for me...

My first board went bad and would stop at the qcode 68 during the post process. What happens if you disconnect the sata drive altogether? When you enter bios does it see the ssd? You should be able to see all attached drives in bios.

If you don't have display with code A2 it's a gpu issue whether it be power to your gpu or connectivity with your monitor.

If you have display with code A2 it is likely a drive or a usb device causing it, maybe try a different intel sata port.

Try clearing the cmos or resetting the bios to defaults and only have the drive your ssd is installed on and your mouse and keyboard connected.

You can also try the windows repair or complete reinstall.
