:(:( The Bad Luck Build...
So I bought a whole new setup... bar the HD5850... this is the only old component in my build...
all was successful when I first installed... worked reallly well for the first 2 months.... then he started crashing all the time...
a wierd crash too... sounds like the audio is going thru a grinder, or like a casette being chewed up, then the audio will start to loop what ever sound its playing, the screen will lock up and eventually its just frozen... I've left it making these horrible noises a few times, and only once after maybe 5 minutes, it came back...
So after reading some of these forums, It was suggested to update the bios, mine was not quite the latest, so I used the Asuss AI suite to automatically update... it all installed fine, click yes to restart... ... ... nothing, not a bios beep, nothing...
ended up sending the board back, almost a month later, got a 'new one' apparantly...
Re build... feeling good... push the power button... ... .... same thing, nothing....
after more forum reading... went out and bout a $30 sempron... installed that... started first time... into windows, download latest bios 1102... usb flashed it from asus bios app... reinstalled the FX6100... All good... ... ... for about a week....
Back to my audio chewing crash.... now this happens any old time randomly, no BSODs just audio chewing lockup...
util after a few more days, BSODs with the message Memorey_Management... so off to memtest86 we go....
after trial and error with my 4 sticks of ram... one of them errors out everytime.... removed it... all is running really nice... for alittle while...
start getting an error on startup with the intel lan thingo... as well as an ! next to it in device manager... so i figure Im not evern using onboard lan, I have a wireless card... so I disabled the Lan in the bios... PC is now running like a dream.... no crashes at all for a week... I've been playing Need For Speed - The Run.... Full Spec, Hard core all week, watching 1080p movies, listening to music, everything, without a single crash... don't know how turning of the lan would affect it, but it seemed to fix it...
... until....
yesterday.... no start... CPU LED, Ram LED and VGA LEd all flashing on start up... if it even got that far.... maybe twice out of pusing the power button 30 times and getting nothing but GPU and CPU fans it made it to bios... upon making it to bios the first time... I noticed all the settings were back to default, the lan was back on and my boot order had changed, and it wasn't even seeing 2 of my 3 hard drives... Then.... 6, yes 6 loud medium beeps from the pc speaker and full lock up in the bios....
tried restarting... nothing for another 30 on/offs.... then it made it to bios again, same 6 beeps but no crash this time, turned off the lan, re ordered my boot sequence and now I'm in windows typing this message....
Very frustraing... I've sent a similar message to this, back to my PC shop, and will wait to see what they say on monday...
Could my CHVF be faulty again?
😞 Has anyone else had big stupid missions like this to get a stable CHVF/AMD setup?
Its been since November and maybe one month of the time, I've had a stable box.... getting pretty salty about it...
All drivers/windows are right up to date... chipset, bios, everything... I'm scared to restart as it might take me another 2 hours to get it to turn on again....
Help!??!?
