Helloo ROGGERS,
I am relatively new to OC'ing and need some help fine tuning some settings for a more ambitious overclock (~4.7-4.8 would be happy with 4.6-4.7 also) if possible. I have read most of the threads and guide on OC'ing 4770k's
Currently I am stable on 4.5ghz with 1.255 volts - I have a custom loop which at the moment has 480+360rads with EK blocks so cooling is adequate.
As I said above 45x is stable at 1.255v (temps barely go above 60 degrees) but to get to 46x I am having to do some big voltage jumps (up to 1.3 and still not 100% stable.)
So that lead me to believe I might be missing some clever little optimisations.
Here are the screenies of my BIOS:

Basically I have most things on auto - I changed the eventual and initial voltages to respect intels\asus guide lines of +.45\.40v from Vcore + a small buffer. That seemed to have helped stability as I can boot 46x at 1.27v and run tests on 46x @ 1.285v but with BSOD's (bumping it +.005v each BSOD). I have also played briefly with some of the digi power controls as per the uefi guide to overclocking sticky, but returned them to auto as it was out of my depth for the moment and wanted to get more assurances I am changing sensible settings.
For the moment I have my ram @ 1600 to focus on the CPU. I could run it at 2400 on 45x quite happily.
Currently, I am doing a few runs of ROG real bench for stability testing followed by a few hours of AIDA64. Not the most comprehensive test I know, but I will do a more thorough one when I am nearer the goal.
So mainly I would love any feedback on settings. What is your recommendation is as far as max 'safe' vcore is for 24\7 OC's, is it solely based on what temps you can control or should I not be looking to exceed 1.3v? Am I at the limit of my CPU? Is that kind of voltage jump common for 45-46x? Am I doing something noobishly wrong? Or any other useful comments would be go a long way!
I would greatly appreciate any feedback you guys have!
Cheers!
