M6E USB connectors all occupied and I want to install a USB 2.0 internal card reader

Hello Everyone,

I have finished my new build with this motherboard. I have installed de OC Panel in normal mode, a CPU cooler corsair H100i in a thermaltake chaser A71 that has 2 usb 2.0 ports. So with these three devices I have occupied the USB 2.0 connections available in the motherboard. I want to install a card reader too but I can't figure out how to install it because there are no more connections in the M6E. Is there a way to install the card reader with any kind of adapter?

Thanks

Regards,

Fer

Expanding USB ports is the function of a hub. Clubfoot's link above points to one such. You can also search Amazon.com for
"internal USB hub" that may reveal one that is easier to install or mount or is available where you are.

Jeff

I have done something easier and also doesent make bottleneck on the splitted usbs.

I just take an old usb cable and cut it, then just go to the cable of the reader with the internal usb. Then just cut both and solder the wires colour by colour. Everything works like a charm. I proffited one port wich can be used for external watercooling to make it arrive to the I/O pannel, connecting it on your preferred usb port, wich if i remember they are 10; 2x intel 3.0+4xmarvel 3.0+4xintel 2.0.

Also i had done the same to make a ROG link cable.
