M6E 4 way GPU header issues

Hey guys I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my computer and as such have added the fourth and final GPU to my system. However. the 4th gpu completely blocks off the I/O headers even when waterblocked. I had to push and hold the last gpu and even then I could only get the power header and reset header to go in. The PLED+ , PLED- and HDD led headers is nearly impossible to get them to fit in their pins. This is without using the Q connector or whatever its called btw. With that it would definitely bo not doable. Is Asus aware of this when using 4 graphics cards and are there any tips you guys could give me so that I can get all my headers to fit? It's pretty annoying that I will be able to turn it on and off but none of the LEDs for my case will work  Thanks!

Try bending the pins back a bit. 🙂

Those pins were not designed to be bent, I would not suggest doing that.

Not too many options here, how are with splicing wires & soldering?

Hi,

This might be a solution for your problem:

Pin headers that I use :

this pin header front panel female male angled:
3586835869

Connect that to front panel header on mobo, than connect your front panel cable with female end to the angled connector.

You can also use these and remove the female end and solder them to the motherboard prontpanel header:

Male - female 1-pins extension cable:
35867
Female 1-pins end:
Image
Male 1-pins end:
35866

Create your own 1 pins connector by using this:
35864
and these pre-crimped cables:
35872
The female end, which can easily be clicked in the connector:
35870
The male end
35871

you can buy these all on: http://www.pololu.com/category/39/cables-and-wire

Well I hope this might solve your problem!
