So i getting ready to (finally) order my maximus 7 formula, and was wondering what to do about a SSD drive for it. I really wanted the SAMSUNG XP941 M.2 but it looks like it won't be worth it because of the limitations of the board. Would it be worth running it in a PCI adapter? or should i just say to hell with it and get an 850 evo pro?
You won't look back with the M2 I got a plextor for my VII Ranger Boot in 9 secs - feels great also Plextor PX-G1256M6E 256GB M6e M.2 2280 PCI Express Gen2 x2 SSD
Devils Canyon Intel i7-4970K ~ Asus Maximus Ranger VII ~ 16 GB HyperX Beast ~ Plextor M6e 256GB M.2 - 2280 SSD ~ CPU Cooler Corsair H105 73.0 CFM Liquid ~ PSU: Thermaltake Smart M 850W 80+ Windows Home Premium x64
hmmn? unless money is no object I think I'd rather have a 128 ssd + hard drives for storage use the excess cash for video cards -- that's the way to go ? does anyone need 256GB SSD? suppose if you had multiple OP's + games it might !

volts, i use 256GB SSD +****loads of HDD for storage. Just want a little more speed, and of course to free up a sata port 🙂
I know that the Max Hero is supposed to work great, but is still cant seem to find out for sure if i can use the Samsung xp941 will fit/work on the Max 7 Form.
