I have a Microsoft Natural 4000 v1.0 that at random will stop working in Win7 pro, I will go to open a browser window and when I start typing nothing happens. The lights on the keyboard (f-lock and num lock) remain lit but no keys will work. To fix it I have to unplug the keyboard from the rear USB port and plug it back in again, the computer will then reflect the key strokes, I am NOT having this issue with my mouse (Logi G500). Also I do not get any kind of USB disconnect or reconnect notifications when dealing with it, it just stops working and I pull it out and put it back in (ha) and it starts working again.
I have the latest 1102 UEIF installed, the latest USB3 drivers installed (happens on both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports) as well as the intellitype keyboard drivers, I have had this issue with the last BIOS too and while using the windows keyboard drivers. So far the only fix I have heard is trying partial initialization and full initialization in the bios but neither fix the issue. It is not just a cold boot issue, I will boot up and use the keyboard like normal and then come back and it's stopped working. Any ideas? Other BIOS settings? I have googled this issue and can only find similar issues but with those it takes several reboots for keyboard/mouse to work, that isnt the issue I'm having.
