Keyboard stops working on HERO, very annoying

I have a Microsoft Natural 4000 v1.0 that at random will stop working in Win7 pro, I will go to open a browser window and when I start typing nothing happens. The lights on the keyboard (f-lock and num lock) remain lit but no keys will work. To fix it I have to unplug the keyboard from the rear USB port and plug it back in again, the computer will then reflect the key strokes, I am NOT having this issue with my mouse (Logi G500). Also I do not get any kind of USB disconnect or reconnect notifications when dealing with it, it just stops working and I pull it out and put it back in (ha) and it starts working again.

I have the latest 1102 UEIF installed, the latest USB3 drivers installed (happens on both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports) as well as the intellitype keyboard drivers, I have had this issue with the last BIOS too and while using the windows keyboard drivers. So far the only fix I have heard is trying partial initialization and full initialization in the bios but neither fix the issue. It is not just a cold boot issue, I will boot up and use the keyboard like normal and then come back and it's stopped working. Any ideas? Other BIOS settings? I have googled this issue and can only find similar issues but with those it takes several reboots for keyboard/mouse to work, that isnt the issue I'm having.

Have you tried another keyboard to verify if it's an issue with the 4000?
Or tested the 4000 on another machine?

I've been using this very keyboard for years now with my old Asus 890fx/phenom II setup and just barely upgraded over Black Friday, up until the upgrade I've had 0 issues with the keyboard not working, I'm 99% sure it's not the keyboard. I'll have to test it out using the PS2 adapter and see if I experience anything similar.

:edit: Hmmm windows won't even recognize the keyboard with the USB/PS2 adapter on it :(, looks like I'll just have to tolerate it for now.

All I can suggest is that you update the USB drivers and use a USB2 port for your keyboard.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I suggest using a different USB port on your HERO mother board, maybe that particular USB port may be faulty.
