Keyboard not detected

Ok I just got the Crosshair V formula and waited a day to install it.

Well I got it to bios setup several times past that is on the verge of hopeless

two things happen

1 it says keyboard not detected,
then it boots into boot manager and shows Windows 7 and Windows 7 recovered chose option and
well since the keyboard is not detected ,. I can't click on anything

then after that I have to clear cmos to get to where keyboard works again and into setup after the clear to reset time and date

then well Same thing over again

I have tried all the different usb ports for the keyboard swapped the mouse too
oh and in that window there is no cursor

SO i had to take the board back out and reinstall my M4N82 deluxe so I can see about getting some help

I am about ready to send it back

Welcome to the ROG forum!
Have you checked to make sure that the legacy settings in the usb section of the bios are enabled ?

Do you have a PS2 plug adapter for your keyboard ?
If so then you might try that and see if you get a working keyboard connected to the PS2 plug !

what color is the USB port you're plugged into? When i first got my CHV i made the mistake of trying to use a USB3.0 port while trying to install windows and it wouldn't work, not till after a windows install and then installing the drivers, furthermore when I have my g15 plugged into a USB 3.0 port, when i shut down my keyboard stays lit. I'm assuming that has to do with the USB charging feature.

The key bit of information for me is that you have to change date and time, could you explain what you mean please.

Ok when you reset The cmos move jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 unplug and leave for 5 to 10 seconds
(also i have to remove the battery) this resets the date to board default which is back in 2008

Also I have tried all the usb ports and unplugged my thermal sensors and addition USB for the case Thinking there may some conflict Nothing effected the outcome still as soon as its out of bios it will not detect the keyboard

Also I have not changed the voltage for anything not the memory or CPU or GPU

I run SLI so I also took out the second GPU thinking maybe some IRQ conflict still same outcome

I have not checked using the ps2 adapter yet > GOOD IDEA better yet i'll go buy a ps2 keyboard I will post results

Ok I am running the Crosshair V still does not detect keyboard but i got it to install windows using the adapter/usb keyboard in the ps2 port the mouse quit but

It does boot to windows now The motherboard still isn't right tho and win is sluggish at best.
I am going to update the bios now that I have it online and hope that helps

Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
