So I have my Impact set up all nice and for the most part working ok. I've noticed that chome seems to be slower than my old PC that i just upgraded from. My symptom would be Chome would be unresponsive for 5-15 seconds when loading certain pages It turns out that flash-heavy websites such as youtube seem to have issues. Well, as it turns out a lot of people are having a similar problem. Many of them simply updated their Realtek driver.
Updating seems to work ok until you try and play sound, which no longer works. an error message of "failed to play test tone" when running the Speaker setup for Playback Devices appears. Reverting back to the Asus provided driver gets sound working again, but Chrome is still slow.
Asus, any chance you can get an updated Realtek driver QA'd and released soon?
