Internal USB port problem

Hello,

Today i plugged in my NZXT internal usb expander and i heard a pop tried to start system and no go. So i unplugged it and everything was ok except the actual hub and internal usb port. My question is will asus warranty my water cooled board? I am assuming no, but would like some feedback before i waist time calling.

Thank you,

Is there physical damage on the motherboard?

Take the board out and inspect it, if you find some damage post up a high res image and let us have a look.

I believe the rule of thumb is if the water cooling setup didn't cause the issue, it will be able to be RMA'd.
It does however have to be in the stock configuration when you send it in.

Yeah that is a given that the original heat sinks on the vrm's and other places if applicable are replaced - the key is the determined cause of the damage. That is the linchpin that the whole RMA success hinges on.

The water cooling setup did not cause the problem, i tested it for leaks for 48 hours without power to components. I inspected both usb connections and they looked good. The one on the right works good but the one on the left is not working. I am talking about the bottom 2 internal connections. Do i have to put the stock coolers back on before sending back to RMA? Thank you for your help.

Yes. Stock coolers are necessary.

Just wanted keep everyone posted. Called Asus tech support and got a very nice lady, the process took 5 minutes. I tough to my self why is everyone talking crap about Asus support? Well now i know why!!! Stock check to do an advanced exchange is still processing for over a week??? I called 4 times now to check on status and i get the run around. They keep saying stock check only takes 3 hours normally and up to 48 hours. Go figure..........

Interesting, seeing as the board is almost impossible to buy from anywhere right now.
Seems even ASUS may not have stock.

Got a response today and they do not have any in stock! So i have to send my board in first, which is kind of crapy. I might just wait for a little while and try again.
