I have just done a new install of Windows 8, do I need to install Intel Management Engine Interface, does it add anything that I need as all devices are installed fine in Device Manager?
Is it worth installing?
I raised the same questions with the Asus and Intel drivers. Device Manager is fine. I went ahead and did a second install of Win8 and the only drivers I installed the second time around were video and the Realtek audio, otherwise Windows is recognizing all devices ports chipset, Intel Gigabit LAN, drives; and transfer speeds USB, SATA, SSD, and network are all running fine, so as you I question the need to install all those drivers. I’m gonna keep the install as lean as possible, and if an issue or lack of functionality arises, then I will add whatever driver is needed, but until then, the OS is running very fast, seems slightly faster than the last install, when by default I just installed all drivers as usual, just out of habit.
Notice the Win8 USB drivers are not even available in the support page for the M5F or M5E, I would assume since they are not necessary, and I am wondering just how many of the other drivers are also not necessary, if I am wrong on this one, well I guess time will tell.
Thanks for bringing up a very good question.
