Intel Gigabit Ethernet problems

So i got the Crosshair V Formula Z and I tried pluging into the Ethernet port at my college and no lights on the back came up so i thought it was just a driver issue and went to install drivers for the Intel Gigabit internet that the board said it came with but after i installed the driver it said that no intel adapters are present on the computer i even went to check my adapters in the device manager and the only thing that came up was my wireless adapter. Is there a way to fix this or did I get a faulty board?

Il look again but i wasnt able to find it what is it under?

Thank you!!!!!!!

If you're running Windows 8.1, you can't install the latest Intel drivers for that LAN adapter, it just says no intel network adapters found because Intel failed to add this adapter to the driver

You need to use Windows' own default driver, or check the main thread about this issue, there is a workaround to use a different named driver manually
MOBO - Crosshair V Formula
CPU - AMD FX-8350 @ 4.8GHz
COOLER - Corsair H100i / MX-4
RAM - 12GB G.Skill RIPJAWS X @ 2133MHz
GPU - XFX R9 295X2 8GB
HDD - 2TB Seagate
PSU - Corsair TX950W
CASE - Coolermaster HAF 922
OS - Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit

I tried looking for it and wasnt able to find it do you know what it is under?
