Agreed. It should be on AHCI on default though right? If you're setting up on a Formula-Z with quick boot AND using windows 8.1, make sure you run the UEFI install instead of just booting from the CD/DVD. When you put in the DVD, it will let you boot like normal, but it will also give you a option to boot UEFI device, do that and it will install correctly on 8.1 (with the proper partitions) and will enable fast/secure boot.
