Impact VII "IROG3 is Updating" Infuriating.

I've had a number of these and I'd be fine if the update only took a few seconds but they don't. I don't expect to have to wait an hour to use my PC. I've a feeling it might be if it's left with no power overnight but, it doesn't always happen and I've never had or read about a motherboard that needs constant power.

I have the latest BIOS is that know to have problems?

What is it updating exactly, why does it take so long and is it really going to make it unbootable if you turn it off during the update?

Each time it does it it reminds me of the G73 was when it came out, good but glitchy, and that perhaps I should have stuck to Gigabyte.

On final thing, considering this is an official Asus forum there seems to be a distinct lack of Asus personnel answering peoples questions.

I always get IROG3 update when i flash to a newer BIOS but only once after it updates it never happens again. If your board updates every time you turn on your pc i would say your motherboard is ready for RMA.

Ditto on what FZero stated...I'm wondering if your system is having difficulty getting through the IROG3 firmware update? Maybe you could try to re-flash the BIOS or maybe return to an earlier version of the BIOS. I would also suggest downloading a new version of the BIOS too.

I believe Raja is an actual Asus employee but honestly I would like to hear from others who "play" with the hardware on a daily basis like most of us do (no offense to Raja or any other Asus employees here on the forum) as they don't have the experience or time to play with the wide variety of hardware that we all use. Just my two cents of insight 🙂
