Impact error during windows 7 installation.

tl;dr scroll down to bolded section if you wish to skip the backstory.

First off i'd like to apologize for posting this here, but it seems like the most appropriate place.
I'm sure that i'm missing something terribly simple, however I just can't figure out what.

I decided now would be a good time to make a new build with the ncase M1 coming out soon, and the last part came in the mail yesterdy; the Asus ROG Maximus VI Impact MoBo.

Now me being an impatient man and wanting to make sure nothing was DOA, I purchased a Bitfenix Prodigy whilst I was waiting to house the system.

Build went well, got everything installed together, however I have a few problems with the installation.

I initially created a USB Boot Disk (w7 x64) using the microsoft DVD/USB boot disk creator, and installed it smoothly, however it would not recognize the WiFi/Ethernet Cable/USB ports, basically anything at all. All I could do was insert my product key and browse a basic fresh setup.
so I got the idea in my head that I had used the wrong installer and needed w7 x64 & sp1, so I formatted the drive, as well as the usb boot disk, re-downloaded the service pack 1 installer onto the disk and plugged it in.

Here's where the problem lies; I can navigate the UEFI menu fully with a functional keyboard and mouse, however the second I get into the windows language installation menu, they both become inactive/unusable.

I first assumed this was due to the fact that they were plugged into the usb 3.0 ports{however this didn't seem to effect the installation first time round}, and tried relocating them to the usb 2.0 ports, however the same still applies; completely unusable. I was wondering if I had neglected to activate the right options within the BIOS.

I don't suppose anyone knows the right settings to be using do they I would be eternally grateful for any help anyone is able to give.

Thanks - Andy.

At default settings the mouse and keyboard should work fine. Clear the motherboard's UEFI and be sure the keyboard/mouse are connected to the USB ports stated for this use. WiFi and that type of stuff is not going to work until you install the drivers for the operating system. The drivers are on the disk that came with the motherboard.

May I ask if you are using an official Windows 7 ISO for your Microsoft USB installer, or as it seems you are using some other ISO or OS source and a vlite or similar to create a slipstreamed USB install?
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Replying on my so I'll apologise for any autocorrect mistakes now.
@praz
Thanks, will give that a try tomorrow afternoon when I wake up.

I'm not using an official w7 iso as such I'm afraid, however I am using one that was made using the Microsoft official windows dvd+/USB boot drive tool. I feel like it's worth noting that I don't actually have an optical drive so I can't insert the mobo driver disk. If that appears to be the problem I guess I could buy a cheap one and hook it up, however as I already installed one version of windows on this machine I'm not to sure if that would fix it.

Download the LAN/WiFi drivers from ASUS.com using a different system. Put the drivers on a USB stick and use that to install the drivers to your system.

edit: so, I fixed it, if anyone reading this has the same problem, make sure you have Legacy USB enabled, and it was apparently it was the keyboard I was using. Plugged in a cheap £1.50 rubberdome and it installed smoothly.

I did try that, the first time round. But the computer didn't have the drivers to recognize the usb device.

The current problem now is that I physically can not install windows at all.
The installer is not recognizing the Mouse/Keyboard the second the language screen opens up, despite them being fully functional in the UEFI/BIOS.

edit: i figured it may have been the .iso I was using to install, however it is doing the same thing with three seperate versions.(two of which have successfully installed versions of windows without any problems in the past), so i'm thinking this is just a simple BIOS error, of not having the right option enabled/disabled allowing me to use the peripherals during installation.

It seems whichever I use now, the installation screen causes all of the USB ports to stop functioning.
is there an option in the BIOS that i'm overlooking which enables them ?
