Something is not right here, my idle temps are 42c and when browsing the web they shoot up to 50c, that seems far to high, i have read the long thread on the intel forums about people having problems with these chips and some blaming the mobo manufacturers for ridiculous power settings, can someone help me out please, i have tried lots of thing like, changing the voltage core to 1.15 which runs stable at stock but idle temps are the same, i have a i7 4790k by the way, is their a beta bios out their i can try, im pulling my hair out over this, also please not that when playing battlefield 4 temp don't go above 72 at max

i have read on the forum people running these chips at 30c idle with the same type of cooler i have which is a dark rock pro 2, so something aint right

room temp is 25c

Welcome to the forum!

Tells us about your case and case fan configuration. Also what TIM did you use and how was it applied?
Do you have positive airflow?
You can go with an adaptive setting in the bios that might help lower temps when idle and under minimal stress.
Your idle temps are directly correlated with your ambient temps.

72c playing BF4 is completely acceptable.
