i received my i5-4670k today, even running at stock settings one or two cores keeps failing in Prime95 😞
anyone know what settings i should use with my Asus Maximus VI Gene board?
i flashed bios with the newest bios 0711 to see if that helped and so far it didn't.
Description MAXIMUS VI GENE BIOS 0711
1.Revise help string in BIOS.
2.Fix XMP button issue
3.Improve system compatibility.
i use my 4x4gb kit (16gb in total running 1.5v that's stock from Corsair), could it be that my memory needs more voltage or is it just that i need to change some voltage values for the cpu?

Up ure analogue i/o with a increament of 0.05v or offset +0.050 till u find some stability in prime. Leave VCSSA at 0.95v or offset +0.125v. Reduce it later till u find some form of stability.
Run in diagnostic mode with all asus services enable and intel Integrated clock service enabled
Prime 27.9 change the settings to memory to use 14000-15000 and each fft run from 15 to 120. Its the first fft that u will be interested in atm.
BTW i hope u have adaquate cooling to do this as even on default with Asus Core optimization the vid for 39x can jump to 1.2v on vcore.

It just may be your CPU needs the extra voltage to run the the memory modules. Are you able to lower the voltage if you only run 2?

i haven't tried that, but atm i set it to manual/static/fully mode or what it's called and i am running stabil at 1.050V set in bios at 3.4ghz with boost up to 3.8ghz no problems, doing normal idling, gaming, Aida64 System Stability Test running FPU.

not 100% stabil yet, i had a crash while i was away but temps never went over 65c so i dunno what's wrong 😕
i guess Haswell just ain't plug and play like the Third Generation 😞

If at stock, use adaptive/offset for CPU voltage - leave voltage at default. Don't change it. I am wondering if your CPU needs more VID for any AVX routines than you have set as static.
