How to make a RAID 0 array (Non-OS boot drive)

Hey guys I have a couple of questions about making a RAID 0 array using 2 HDD's. I already have windows installed onto my SSD and I am just wanting to make a RAID 0 array using these 2 extra drives. So here are my specific questions:

1. Do I need to do a clean install of the OS and load the RAID driver off of a flash drive during the install. I ask because I did not do that this last time I installed windows. Do I only need to install the RAID driver during the OS installation if I will be installing the OS onto a RAID array?

2. Do I need to move my SSD and CD-ROM to SATA ports 5-6 and set them to IDE or will they still run in AHCI mode even though they are still plugged into SATA ports 2 and 4?

As I said earlier, I will not have the OS loaded onto this RAID array, it will be strictly for games, music, pics etc..

Thanks in advance for any info 🙂

Have you explored AMD RAIDXpert yet? That would be my advice to have a look.
