How to Install Ai Suite 3! (For People Who Cannot install the new AI Suite 3)

Okay...I finally was able to fix this!!

Follow the steps correctly..

-Uninstall any remaining Asus programs, then start windows in safe mode and run this cleaner.

-Restart into normal windows mode and download a newer version of AI suite listed at your Motherboard page, decompress it but don't install it.

-In the drvresource folder right-click on HMservice/aaHMIns.exe and AXSP/axinst.exe and change the compatibility for all users to run as administrator. (Look into compatibility settings and opt accordingly)

-Run the main Ai suite installer (asussetup) as administrator.
Nothing seems to be happening again but just check your task manager for a process called axins.exe. End that process and the installer should magically start working.

Unblock works if you unblock the .zip before extracting installer, setup ran normally afterwards

Groundwire +1!! That worked everything else I tried failed. I tried doing what you said and unblocking the .ZIP before extracting and the installer started right up even without me having to kill any process.. Thanks !!

I have found the problem solution ( Cant uninstall or install AI Suite )
I was getting ""you must reboot this system to complete a previous installation. After rebooting run the setup again" warning when i try to uninstall or install the program.

So here is the fix :

Go to :
C:\ProgramData\ASUS\AI Suite III (if you cant see ProgramData folder , disable hidden folders)

Delete :
"Lock" file

And try again uninstalling .

Extra (if you want) :
After uninstall , restart PC and go safe mode and use cleaner.exe ( http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?34503-AI-Suite-III-Cleaner ) to clean everything . Restart . ( also download Ccleaner program - https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner - and clean registry for possible ai suite things )
Then install clean new version etc etc...

edit: i am not sure we need to delete C:\ProgramData\ASUS\ folder after uninstalling everything and safe mode cleaning. But try it also (make sure backup folder 1st).

I had the same problem, here I entered in safe mode, run the cmd command sfc /scannow, it had an issue that was preventing Windows to uninstall and install the new Aisuite 3. Didn't see the log to know what exactly was the problem though.

I found that if you go , folders , DrvResource , AISuite 31.00.68 ,also the asussetup exe,_setup exe, change all to full control and tick them in
security also run as admin with the ticks ticked.. Then it runs without killing any process .. remember all the exe & rars tick them all..
it worked for me, hope this helps someone..

Uninstall AIS3, and when the app offers the choice of bits you want to ditch select ONLY the Wireless Engine.

I wrote a lot more, but when I posted it on Tom's Guide the damn security page came up, and by the time I'd entered the Captcha it had evaporated. Basically, follow the info elsewhere here and on Tom's Guide about unblocking ZIPs and EXEs and setting them all to run as Admin first, go to Task Scheduler after and change User if necessary to your own account, plus setting compatibility from Vista to W7 if applicable. Then try my answer.

See: http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-1782754/asus-suite-iii-setup-start.html

**** ASUS damn setups with their sloooooooow installation, junkware (And since when has Chrome been a driver?) and lack of choice on folders (And when there is a choice the installed app fails to remember where some of it's files are).

Enough! I'm starting to feel like a bloody flame warrior . Good luck

Thanks for tip T00, unfortunately for me the scan shows no violations found.

Not sure if Asus is looking into the A1 suite problems so I might have to bite the bullet and try a windows re-install.

Thx for suggestion anyway.
