how to flash the bios on my hero vi

hey guys never done this before.

let me start by saying I burnt up my 4770k recently and I have overclocking insurance on it, but its been delidded and also the insurance doesn't go active for a few more weeks (you have to wait 30 days per intels agreement to make a claim) so I figure why the heck not just upgrade to the 4790k.

however im wondering if I need to grab my other 1150 cpu out of my smaller microatx asus board to flash the bios or if I can flash it without a working cpu in there.

In your usermanual or online there is a guide how to use the USBflashback method.

You do not need a CPU in system.

oh thanks for the response. that answers my question. I know how to flash it already I was just wondering if I needed the cpu in there.
