How Lucid Virtu works?

I ran Lucid Virtu when i playing bc2. i got like 16-17 fps. what is going on?

Since you included no system information I'm going to assume that you're using a GT220 and say that you should upgrade your video card. Case closed. 😄

how is your monitor connected?

DVI port. Maximus iv extreme z does not have the igpu port

you should check out this thread to read up on lucid virtu, but it is not a performance enhancing feature, it is so that you can use your graphic card and utilize intel's quick sync technology at the same time. aka you can transcode music, movies, etc while playing games and not hurting performance.

if you are plugged into the motherboard, then you are using it like nvidia optimus, where it is switching between igp and discrete graphics based on software application thus saving you power when discrete or in this case your gtx580 is not needed

How Virtu GPU Virtualization Works
Lucid Virtu software is able to assign tasks in real time to the best available graphics resource based on power, performance and features considerations, with no need for additional hardware. If high end graphics power is needed for applications like DirectX 11, high-resolution 3D gaming, the system will assign the job to the discrete GPU. I see. because there was a guy saying he can run lucid virtu when he playing game. smooth and lag free

Depends on the game but assuming the game runs OK on iGPU then the display output frames must still be passed to the dGPU via the PCIe Bus, which lags it and drops performance by 10% or so.

Pauses might be caused by things sharing the same physical bus. To get the best performance make sure you turn everything off on the bus that you can. You would have to look in the manual at the physical bus sharing and in windows device manage at IRQ's etc to work out what was where.

As said though the indention is to reduce load wattage for things like transcoding. For idle it makes no difference. For games it is not really worth the hassle and virtu do not really intend for you to play games from iGPU to output on dGPU as they have no profiles for them in that configuration.

I turned uninstalled it, but as transcoding quality is good on ATI/Intel and not so good on NVidia I would use it if I had an NVidia card.
