Horrible sound stutter during Windows 7 boot - Maximus 6 Extreme

Hi,

When Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit is booting up just before reaching the login screen, there is a horrible stutter when the system is trying to play the welcome chime. Any thoughts or ideas?

Read Maximus VI Hero sound problem, one of the issues reported there is the same as yours, fill the form that RAJA posted in the thread, maybe wiht more people posting it will get Asus attention into being a real problem and place in priority to fix.

Not a fix but I disabled the Windows 7 start up sound so at least I don't have to hear the horrible stuttering during boot. Hope Asus / Realtek get this issue resolved soon.
