Hi , to see my RIG is on my profile PC SPECS.

Here I will show you some stats about my PC when is OC to 4.8 Ghz from Bios.

Here I'm ingame of BF4 with all setting MAX.
48664

And Here are the TEMPS while I'm playng BF4
48665

After I exit from BF4 to Desktop nothing else.
48666

CPU Temps after exit from BF4 ... just to Desktop
48667

And here are the voltages when I stress the CPU with AIDA64
48668

Temps when CPU is stressed with Aida64
48669

How you can see the voltages is really high.

What I want is to overclok my PC to 3 Levels. I mean:
- Default to 4 Ghz (used generally on desktop , basic apps)
- LV 1 to 4.4 Ghz (used for games)
- LV 2 to 4.8 Ghz (used for games as a boost)

Heres come the questions about the Overclocking.

1. We can overclock our PC with 3 ways, Is the same thing ?
- BIOS
- Ai Suite 3
- ROG Dual-Bay Front Panel with CPU lv 1 and lv2 ?

2. How can I overclock/personalize the LV1 & LV2 from ROG Panel ?

3. It is possible to adjust the voltages to be an adaptive but not pass from 1.3v ?

Hope someone with experience give an explained answears.

I have ROG panel and plan to use this feature, yet to install it though. So subscribed to see what answer you get or hope to share my findings 🙂 or read yours ;).

On Asus Maximus VII Ranger with i5 4690K I have adaptive voltage set after fine tuning a low voltage 4.4GHz OC.

In bios I change these options:-

CPU Core Voltage [Auto]->[Adaptive Mode]
CPU Core Voltage Offset [Auto]->[0.001]
Additional Turbo Mode CPU Core Voltage [Auto]->[1.160]

CPU Core Voltage Offset value is added to stock VID at non turbo mode on my CPU. Stock VID on my chip is 1.008v in bios @ non turbo speed of 3.5GHz so plus offset 1.009v (or there about).

Additional Turbo Mode CPU Core Voltage value sets the turbo mode vCore plus offset value so result is 1.161v vCore, my current OC is 4.4GHz for Turbo mode.

I placed loads of Prime95 v26.6 (no AVX) / Folding@Home / XTU and used HWinfo to verify adaptive voltage working correctly to my settings. I read so much info on web regarding how this feature can overvolt CPU and recommendations not to use. Perhaps ASUS implementation better than other motherboard manufacturers.

Your temps are great with those voltages, mine are at least 15 degrees higher with NO OC and lower voltages. Is that a delidded cpu ?
I recommend using bios, stay away from the rog software. There are a few detailed bios guides for this setup around here, maybe a search will reveal them

I would like to know what gains you are seeing over 4.4Ghz. I went up to 4.7Ghz and saw no difference other than heat... I am on a custom water loop and I still didn't see the need to push that kind of heat and voltage past my CPU so I dropped it down to 4.4 and set all manual voltage settings vcore 1.2v (might go lower but it was easy and honestly got tired of playing with every little .01-.1v setting)

Anyways find a youtube video or a guide here on how to OC in the BIOS and you can get to 4.7+ if you really want it... you should get maybe 5 more frames in games and a few hundred more points benching,... I push my CPU hard for benching but turn it back down for gaming, just no need to pick up 5 frames when I am getting 144FPS+

On the Maximus VII Ranger it seems you use this

I think the Maximus VII Hero you'd have same menu.
