Help with RIVE RMA

Hello,

I am new to the forums here. I currently own two ASUS Rampage IV boards including a Formula and Extreme version. Recently, I had an issue with my RIVE board. One evening, I powered down the board and was no longer able to power the board back on. The power, reset, and BIOS lights lid up but the board would not power on. I tested with three different Seasonic X-series power supplies with no success. Prior to this the board ran great under 24/7 use for over a year and a half. I use the board for distributed computing. There were no custom modifications done to the board.

I requested a RMA which I received and sent the board in. According to the Fedex tracking number, the board arrived at ASUS facilities on 09-27-13 at 9:17 AM. When I went to check RMA status the following week on 10-02-13, I saw that the board was received. However, the notice showed code WF4 with customer induced damage and warranty void. I do not understand this as I did not do anything to damage the board. I gracefully powered it off one evening and the board would on longer power on. I E-mailed technical support but they had no further information and told me to wait for an E-mail from the repair floor. After no further E-mail updates, I called ASUS last Friday on the 4th. The ASUS employee told me that the code indicated that ASUS was waiting on receiving a part and that once received, they would repair, test, and ship the board back to me. I checked again today and there are no updates listed and the previous WF4 or any other code is not listed either.

I wanted to know if there is some here with ASUS that would be willing to help me out and check into this to make sure everything is going okay with my RMA. I have no problem waiting longer for parts and the repair but I am worried about this initial customer induced damage notice I saw last week. Thanks.

Please read the sticky post on US and North American RMA and contact the folks listed there. cl-albert is one I think and can be reached via pm here on the forum.

Sorry to hear you are having a hassled and if it is any consolation I have had the exact same behaviour from my RIVE board as you had.
