Hi, you should not use 1.65 volts RAM with a 2600k , this CPU is design to work with 1.5 volts RAM.

Up to 1.65V is fine for the memory. Intel states the same in the documentation for their Sandy Bridge boards.

So pushing the CPU over the spec is fine with you ???? it may be capable to run at 1,65 , but to say it's fine....

Every person I speak with at Intel always say the same, stick with 1.5V RAM, 1.65 v can damage the CPU . the spec of the CPU memory controler is 1.5 not 1.5-1.65v of course if you want shorter the lifespan of the CPU go ahead push it to 1.65v

More misinformation.

This is what is stated in all of Intel's P67/Z68 motherboard manuals.

• Unbuffered, non-registered single- or double-sided DIMMs with a voltage rating of
1.65 V or less
NOTE
Using a DIMM with a voltage rating higher than 1.65 V may damage the
processor
.

The worst scenario I've seen with this is :(BENT PINS:( in the cpu socket.........bad news. Remove the cpu and check the pins in the cpu socket for those dreaded bent pins.

I had the same problem. After a lot of google digging I found out my solution, something very trivial and stupid: my RAM sticks were not properly inserted. As it turned out this motherboard has a funny RAM slots (with latches only on the top), so even when you think the RAM stick is all the way in, there is still a little push left on the bottom side to fully insert the stick.Try it out. Slots are really stiff so you might need to push a bit harder. Good luck!
