Title: [Help Needed] ASUS Maximus VI Extreme Stuck on Error Code 76
Body:
Hey everyone,
I’m having a really frustrating issue with my ASUS Maximus VI Extreme motherboard. Recently, my system has been getting stuck on error code 76 during boot. According to the manual, this code relates to "PCH DXE Initialization," but I’m not sure what exactly is causing it or how to fix it.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Cleared CMOS/Reset BIOS: I’ve used the Clear CMOS button and even removed the battery, but no luck.
Re-seated the CPU: Checked for bent pins and made sure everything was securely in place.
Checked and Re-seated RAM: Tried booting with one stick of RAM in different slots, but still the same error.
Checked all power connections: Everything seems to be connected properly and secure.
Updated BIOS: Attempted a BIOS update using BIOS Flashback, but it didn’t resolve the issue.
Disconnected non-essential components: I’ve tried booting with only the CPU, one stick of RAM, and the GPU, but no change.
Inspected the motherboard for damage: I didn’t notice any visible damage, burned components, or blown capacitors.
Despite all these steps, the system is still stuck on error code 76, and I can’t get it to boot past this point.
Has anyone encountered this issue before or have any suggestions on what else I could try? Could this be a sign of a failing motherboard or CPU? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
