Help! Maximus Hero VI- CPU Level Up

DT7849
Level 7
Hey everyone, could use some of the forums expertise. I just finished a new build with a hero vi mobo. I have a 4770 non K cpu and Corsair Dominator 2133 memory. The cpu is cooled with a hydro 55 cooler. The problem is when I try any of the level up
settings and it says begin tuning now the computer shuts down and restarts with the regular 3.4 speed. When I try to enable XMP in the memory settings the same thing happens. I have a 850 watt PSU and running a gtx 760 with a ssd drive. Thanks

Welcome to the ROG forums, DT7849.

The i7-4770 has a locked multiplier. That means that it's not overclockable. Only the K edition Haswell processors have an unlocked multiplier. That's why the CPU Level Up will not work with your particular processor.

You will need a K processor for the level up to work.

What you can do is change your BCLK to 125 and F10 and enter. That will give you 4.2GhZ

Ok thanks everyone. I only did this build a few days ago and didn't fully read up on the non k 4770. Just one other thing. The Corsair Dominator 2133 8gb is only reading 667 on cpu-z. I enable XMP but once again the computer shuts down then restarts with the 667 speed. Thanks again for all your help.

There might be a compatibility issue with the X.M.P. profile. Try setting up your RAM manually. If you need help, there's a guide in my signature to guide you through the whole process.

If you did the 125BCLK then you need to change the memory frequency down to what ever your memory is rated for.
