Help getting Vengeance 64gb 2133mhz to run flawlessly

Hey guys, for the most part my system boots fine 95% of the time. But I occasionally get the Overclocking Failed warning.

I'm running a RIVBE with a i7-4930k and Vengeance® — 64GB Quad Channel DDR3 Memory Kit 2133mhz

I have my Overclock profile set to XMP, and I have tried changing the DRAM timing Tweak between Auto and Mode 3 (Mode 2 puts computer into constant restart cycle, wont even get to bios)

Does anyone know what voltages I will need? I read through the RAM guide but as I said if I change too much in the DRAM the computer wont even boot to BIOS.

Thanks!

Yes, the Vengeance line has always been a hit or miss with the RIVE. The RipjawsZ, on the other hand, is built from the ground up for the X79 platform. I've never seen anyone on this forum having problems with the RipjawsZ and the RIVE.

Hmm, I'm about 20 restarts deep in testing now without any hang ups. I ended up setting to XMP, lowering to 1600, and setting Tweak Mode to 3. Before I had tweak mode to auto.

With all due respect, it is obvious that you are unfamiliar with what XMP actually is. It is an overclock for your memory. If stock value is 2133 and your enabling XMP and then setting the frequency to 1600, you are shooting yourself in the foot. Rather than doing that, don't enable XMP and leave as stock.

I to am running ripjaws without problems. So this is a 2133 kit right? Using XMP is overclocking the kit which maybe problematic firstly because of its size and secondly because of its type. What speed is the XMP overclocking to, 24000, 28000? I would have thought 2133 would be most acceptable. Have you tested the kit without XMP and loading it with memtest or the like? (Never used a Mac so don't know about software etc).

Also try not using XMP but using the XMP values and entering them manually. If you look in the tools section SPD of the bios you will see the xmp timings and voltages. Also set Dramm current capability for both channels to 120% in digi control. Does this problem happen just on first bootup? If so, increase th cpu vccsa boot up voltage to that which is also shown in the XMP profile. All this assuming that this is a matched bought all together kit and not made up of different sets all being that they maybe exactly the same spec.
