Yes, this is an odd combination. Recently I had to replace my RX Vega 64, and the only GPU considering the economy to replace it with was an RX 9060 XT 16GB.
Here is the issue:
Whilst the RX Vega 64 negotiated PCIe 16x 3.0 without any issue, the RX 9060 XT 16GB is stuck in PCIe 16x 2.0. Yes, PCIe gen 3 is explicitly set in the BIOS. I have tried this on the latest BIOS (2702) and 2602. None are working. I also have a 2702 BIOS that is patched with ReBar support that worked without any issue with the RX Vega 64. I have emptied all possible troubleshooting so I want to know whether this is normal behaviour. Is the RX 9060 XT too old to properly negotiate PCIe 16x 3.0 with the H97 chipset and/or the Intel CPU?
The specs are 1) ASUS H97M, 2) Intel i7-4790, 3) 4 x 8GB DDR3-1600, 4) Corsair CX750M and 5) RX 9060 XT 16GB?
What I haven't attempted is using another PSU and testing the RX 9060 XT in another system. This is only because I don't have these options currently available.
Are there anyone here that might have had such "legacy" challenges, and managed to resolve the issue? Help will be very much appreciated.
