Having some problems on a new pc build

So I purchased a whole set of new components this weekend, including the crosshair V, and I have been having some problems. At first it would not boot with the full 16 gb
, so I put in one stick which allowed me to get to the bios. After testing all the ram slot by slot, which they all worked in, I put in 2 sticks which seemed to work at first. I begun the windows installation with 2 sticks in and it did the first steps without problems but then locked up once it restarted to finish. I then took it back to 1 stick and it finished the windows installation and windows seemed to be working fine. I then restarted with the intention of going in to the BIOS to change some of the settings around but upon restarting it did recognize any boot device then went to a black screen as well as not giving power to or recognizing the mouse and keyboard. I've been working on this thing for the whole day and I'm at a total loss. Any ideas?

I had problems instaliing Win 7 with 2x4GB modules.
The only way I could get it to install was with one 4GB stick installed.
Sounds like you could have a bad Windows installation, did you install in AHCI mode or use a RAID array?
Upon entering the bios, you must get your memory timings and voltage established to gain initial stability.
