Have a question regarding the asus rampage iv extreme and bf3 edition

Hey Guys

I am looking into purchasing the ASUS RAMPAGE IV EXTREME or the BF3 Edition motherboard. My question is does it come with the documentation called INTEL LGA 2011 CPU INSTALLATION ( E6890 ) ? I know P9X79 PRO, and DELUXE come with that documentation.

Note: E6890 is the number of the document and not a CPU model .

I just looked at the manuel, yes there is a CPU install section.

Dont know what you mean about E6890. If its a CPU its not supported by this motherboard.

The E6890 isn't a CPU I am referring to . That is the number of the documentation that comes with the P9X79 PRO and DELUXE board. I was watching a video of the unboxing of the P9X79 PRO and DELUXE board and they have a documentation titled Intel LGA 2011 CPU INSTALLATION and it had the number of E6890 on the top right hand corner .

Note. I know the E6890 wont work on the new LGA2011 socket.

The E6890 document being referred to is a manual revision/insert page of sorts. I believe it contains info that was not released in the original user manual. You can go to the ASUS website and download the user documentation to determine if it has what you are looking for.

Hi Homewrecker

Just took a look at the usa.asus.com website for that insert ( E6980 ) and its not listed under Other: OS " manuals " .

That would mean the information is either already in the manual or not applicable. The Manual has since been revised since its initial issue. It now sits at Version E6989. As an aside, the manual in its current (and also previous) version has all of the relevant info for installing LGA 2011 CPU's. There isn't really much to it.
