Happy Birthday - Ranger / Vishera

Ok this is a blatently self-serving post but today is #43 for Ranger and guess what santa brought..

Woohoo - I have been struggling to gain platform stability with my 1090T for so long.. finally I can use both my memory modules at their rated speeds, maybe even have a stable platform that is AGESA tumed for my processor. And just in time for my second 5850 waterblock.. just waiting for the EK bridge to arrive so I can move the cards back together where they belong.

If anyone has tips for optimizing the processor please send them my way. Going for 5Mhz.
Now to figure out how to prep the C5F for the Vishera.. woot!

Hey Ranger my friend, first of all Happy Birthday buddy and second hell of a present.

I will hope back into this thread or which ever one you do use to show the settings and stuff with the new CPU. You take care my friend and once I am back from a brief holiday I will have the opportunity to get my one on the test bench and we can compare notes.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

So I was able to get 4.8 stable with 1.5626v. Seems like the voltage is so high compared to others. This passes consistently under IBT. I would like to see if anyone can help me lower my voltages and find a path to 5Ghz. I am running a custom water loop w/D5 Vario.. lots of presure.. should be solid. - Should be. I took temp readings along the way and tried switching to FSB OCs as well. Here is what my testing looked like:

200x23
cpu:4600/1.45625 - core temp: 43c. (IBT: 266 sec)
nb:2400/1.21875
ht:2200/1.2
mem:2133/1.65625
vdda:2.7

250x18.5
cpu:4625/1.46875 - forgot to note IBT pass detail
nb:2500/1.225
ht:2200/1.2
mem:2000/1.65
vdda:2.7

200x23.5
cpu:4700/1.5125 - core temp: 49c. (IBT: 260 sec)
nb:2400/1.21875
ht:2200/1.2
mem:2133/1.65625
vdda:2.7

250x19
cpu:4750/1.53125 - forgot to note IBT pass detail
nb:2500/1.225
ht:2200/1.2
mem:2000/1.65
vdda:2.7

200x24
cpu:4700/1.5625 - core temp: 55c. (IBT: 257 sec)
nb:2400/1.21875
ht:2200/1.2
mem:2133/1.65625
vdda:2.7

Current config is:
C5F FX-8350 200x24 (above)

Power:
CPU LLC:Ultra High
CPU/NB LLC: High
CPU Voltage Freq: VRM Fixed: 500
CPU PWM Phase Control: Extreme

all other at C5F defaults.

If anyone has any suggestions for how to get more umph out of my FX with less voltage I would appreciate the feedback. Thanks muchos in advance and happy holidays to all!

Happy to report that I have been folding for 2 hours in crossfire at 950/1200 and at 4.8Ghz on 8 cores. I was never able to do this on my old processor. Even better with crossfire.. but I know the CODA cores kick major buttoski here - only so far I can go on OpenCL. I am just stoked to be stable for the first time in 3 years over 4.2 Ghz - woot! Merry Christmas.

Core Temp: 53/53c
Water Temp: 37c
GPU Temp: 42c

Edit: So it looks like the folding client as a better test of processor stability than the IBT. While my GPU's will stay on line processing, the CPU client faults after a few minutes of folding. I have tried a few combinations of lowering the multiplier and voltage, to upping the nb and cpu voltage to no effect. Have always had a hard time getting te folding client stable. Perhaps a tri[p to the rog folding forum is now in order.

What does it matter now if men believe or no?
What is to come will come. And soon you too will stand aside,

Thanks for the well wishes.. so far so good 🙂 It's not an ideal solution by my case is just not equipped to handle what I got going on now.. but it seems pretty efficiently setup.. I mean the water temps never really get above 36c. . and that's folding for hours at room temp. My case doesn't even really support the rad.. it is kinda pressed into the top drive bay which leaves me room only for 2 fans above and 2 fans below in push pull. I guess it is a testement to XSPC RS360's and of course my gentle typhoon 1800's - love those fans.
