Hello
I have exactly the same issue described here.
And I've confirmed that the battery needs change. But where is it???
There is nothing in the manual other than an RTC Battery header. This header is under the I/O shroud which is a pain to remove.
I was under the impression, that the board had a typical coin battery somewhere but apparently (??) it doesn't?
So if I want to change the CMOS battery do I just buy one with the jumper (meaning my board never had a battery since 2018) or there is something else hidden somewhere?

You will need a similar one to that, usually a plastic wrap with the wires attached.

Hi @nickmanc It's likely under the I/O shield. As this is an ITX board, depending on the chipset and features, some concessions must be made somewhere for space. The battery has lasted some time, so it's not that much of a concession to make.

Hi @Silent_Scone many thanks for taking the time to reply!
So you believe the actual coin batter is under the I/O shroud? That's what I assumed but then
So, is it possible that this mini-itx board does not have the usual battery and it requires an external one to be connected on the jumper? This makes no sense for many reasons but it's the only logical explanation...

It is under the I/O shield. If you look closer at the picture, you'll see the cable near the WiFi antenna.
