GTX780 ACX SC unstable performance on MVIE Slot 3(B2)

I have experienced some issue with this motherboard. The third PICE slot from the top, aka PCIe 3.0/20_x8_B2, is causing any graphic card that sit on it performing poorly. I noticed this issue when my two GTX780s in SLI configuration, installed on slot 1 and slot 3 as Asus suggested, gave me poor performance in a random pattern. 2 out of 10 system restarts its benchmark results would go very low than it should, meanwhile the CPU would also be busy occupied by system interrupts, making browsing the internet painfully slow. To narrow down the cause of this issue, I reconfigured the SLI to slot 1 and slot 4(at a disadvantage of not using the native PICe lanes of the chipset) and restarted and tested the system for 10 times. Everything turned out to be fine which eliminates the possibility of bad graphic card/driver. Then I put a single graphic card on slot 1 and tested 10 times, no problem. However, when I put the same card on slot 3 and tested it for 10 times, the poor performance issue appeared again in the same pattern as it was in SLI slot1 and slot3 configuration.

Does anybody here have this kind of issue also? Or should I contact the seller for a replacement?

BTW:My power source is AX1200i, and I'm testing it using dual EVGA ACX 780SC with the case open to keep them under 75 celsius degree.

So far so good. SLI seems stable in A & B2 slots with the new BIOS. There is however no measurable performance improvement.

Hey Shakaw,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, much appreciated! Ok that's good to know, glad its working!! excellent news. Also good to know there really isn't any difference in performance. I might leave my 2nd card where it is in that case as better for cooling.

Hey I suspect this issue must have something to do with the gtx 780 but the problem is cause by the board thats for sure. I had two evga 770 classifieds in sli and when I first put system together had the same issue ad the rest which was major micro-stuttering made games unplayable. But after awhile but once I upgraded to 8.1 the problem never arouse again. BUT I just just recently did the step-up program through EVGA and traded in my 770s for two 780. When I was installing them I didnt worry mmuch about outting them in lane 1 and b2 cause the issue was gone with my two 770. Oh how wrong I was, so I boot up and everythibg seems fine so I enter a game of bf4 to see what these 780 can do. And not even more then a cpl of minutes adjusting settings my system freezes up completely hard reset and all and and continued to do so every time to the point I wad like **** this Im gonna switch it over to the next lane and forget about it have dealt with to much fustration and effort on the damn thing to care anymore. I find that asus's negligence to be top of the line bull**** and this board to be flagship garbage.

Have you tried the 0076 BIOS posted one page back?

And yes, most people who experience this problem are those with 780 cards it seems

I had exactly the same problem with 680s
The new test BIOS seems to have solved this though, at least so far so good.

will give it a go and see what happens but probably in a cpl of days, at this point i wouldnt mind selling the damn thing for 275-300, and go with a board that is less problematic and better all around that cost less to lol

I wonder if 0076 and 1002 are the same. The dates are the same, 10/30/13.
